To create an immersive tourist attraction in San Diego’s Mission Valley that celebrates the history of Christianity, in addition to continuing the lifelong global ministry of international evangelist Dr. Morris Cerullo.
Dr. Cerullo approached the PlainJoe team with a vision to create a training center that would continue his ministry after his passing. He also wanted it to be a place that celebrated the history of Christianity and would attract tourists from all backgrounds. With a focus on the idea of leaving a legacy of faith and a positive impact on the world, we approached the concept of Legacy Center International as an entertainment destination similar to a theme park.
Situated in the heart of the San Diego tourist district, Legacy International Center plays on the area’s Mediterranean climate as it brings to life a taste of Jerusalem right here in the United States. The attraction sits alongside some of the most well-known tourist destinations in the United States, including LEGOLAND®, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Zoo.
The Center and its attraction complex include an inspired plaza, museum, catacombs that house an art gallery, international bazaar, a replica of the Western Wall where guests can pray and insert scrolls, and a high-tech, 4D dome theatre we called the HIStory Dome. Its landscaping, architecture, and carefully-selected vegetation are meant to reflect the Holy Land in the West. Throughout the immersive experience, guests have the chance to witness the Bible’s meta-narrative for themselves.
Legacy International Center is a popular San Diego destination today, as well as a focal point for travelers to the region who are looking to explore and expand their faith. It’s also an international hub for evangelism, inspiring guests to impact the world for Jesus.
