Situation
A Vision for Community Impact
When a church set out to weave meaningful outreach into its campus, it discovered an opportunity that would tangibly support the nearby Corona-Norco Rescue Mission while also inviting the broader community into a fresh, engaging experience.
Solution
Designing a Place in Reflection of Its Story
PlainJoe developed the brand and environmental design for Restoration Roasters—a coffeehouse rooted in purpose and transformation. Every design detail tells a deeper story: reclaimed wood, exposed brick, and industrial elements echo the mission’s core belief that people, like materials, can be restored. Even the logo’s typeface was thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia. Situated right on the church campus, the space operates as a hands-on training ground, offering experience in barista skills, customer service, and business operations to individuals recovering from homelessness.
Transformation
Purpose in Every Pour
Restoration Roasters quickly became more than just a café—it became a catalyst for renewal. Guests enjoy premium coffee in a space that embodies the project’s big idea: “I once was lost, but now I’m found.” Meanwhile, program participants gain the skills, confidence, and community support needed to rebuild their lives. Proceeds are reinvested into the mission, fueling a self-sustaining cycle of dignity and transformation. It’s a place where every reclaimed surface reflects value waiting to be restored, and every pour speaks purpose.
