The Big Idea: Empower Advancement

In 2022, Denver area-based BRAVE Church was celebrating its tenth anniversary—and its unprecedented growth throughout its first decade of ministry. BRAVE’s approach to spiritual health was contagious: the church intentionally created an atmosphere that pushes members out of their comfort zone, instead and encouraging bravery and boldness for the cause of Christ. BRAVE lives its mission every day of the week, not just during service times, and its leadership team wanted the church’s connected story to reflect that.

Solution

A Bold, Purposeful Connected Story

BRAVE approached the PlainJoe team to help flesh out its connected story across its strategic, interactive, and spatial environments. We began by refreshing their brand identity and visual language, including their logo and color scheme. Because BRAVE has a particular heart for men’s ministry, we chose a strong font and the colors red, black, & white to solidify that closely-held value.

From there, our team completely revamped the BRAVE website, as well as the website for BRAVE Academy, applying the refreshed brand story and design across the church’s online presence. The fresh new web designs were created with the user experience in mind and are attractive, streamlined, functional, and simple to navigate.

Once the new brand and websites were up and running, we extended that story into spatial language. We also developed a full campus master plan, complete with an animated flythrough, theming, wayfinding signage, and graphics that reflect BRAVE’s new brand design.

Transformation

Bravely Stepping Into the Future

Since completing BRAVE’s new designs, the church has begun to bring the interior of its current space into alignment with the updated brand. Wood, metal, and concrete factored heavily into our designs to represent stability and strength—concepts BRAVE teaches its members.

The master plan we designed is poised to help the church continue its exponential growth; it allows for:

• Renovation of the existing building
• The addition of 4,000 new seats in the worship space
• Expansion of the lobby
• Kidmin and admin office add-ons
• Conversion of adjacent land to a new parking lot

Ultimately, anyone who encounters BRAVE’s distinctive brand will find themselves fully immersed in its mission, vision, and message.
