The most amazing thing for me is that every single person who sees a movie brings a whole set of unique experiences, but through careful manipulation and good storytelling, you can get everybody to clap at the same time, to hopefully laugh at the same time, and to be afraid at the same time.

But how could you live and have no story to tell?

Mariners Church is a thriving community. We’re ordinary people from all backgrounds, and life experiences, courageously trusting Him to do the extraordinary. Simply put, we’re trusting Him to do what we can’t – heal, transform, renew, forgive, provide, and sustain. Through our stories, He is glorified, lives are changed, and our communities are impacted. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, Mariners has a place for you.

More about the history of Mariners Church

Mariners Church began to take shape in 1963 with a small group of Christians who got together to pray, study and share the vision of reaching the Newport Harbor community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the months that followed, the vision of this first “Think and Pray” group began to spread to others through those people’s individual ministries. As more families became involved, Bible studies and testimony meetings were begun in homes throughout the Newport Harbor area, and in 1964 this group organized the first Christian Leadership Week and Newport Beach Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, an important community outreach that continues today.
